About this page
A game in the Milan area usually means a club evening. Paul Morphy keeps Thursday night for free play and suggests it for a first visit; the Scacchistica Milanese runs a seven-round rapid on Saturday afternoons that any player may enter; Cinisello Balsamo opens on Monday and Friday evenings and on weekend mornings outside the summer. Moto Club, Mimosa International and Cavalli & Segugi fill the calendar with evening events, festivals and long opens.
Outside the clubs, Parco Nord has two tiled giant boards that anyone may use, with the large pieces lent at the Cascina Centro Parco in exchange for an identity document. A bar in the Lambrate area has been listed for a Thursday chess evening, though no dated trace of it was found. Some tournaments return as well: the Open Internazionale E. Crespi, now in its 46th edition and dated to December, and a rapid at the Castello Visconteo in Binasco, played twice so far.
